Nasreen Mohamedi was an artist and educator, active from the early 1960s until her early death in 1990. Having trained in London and Paris, she pursued her career mainly in India. Recognised as a leading abstractionist of her generation, her legacy has only grown since her death. Nasreen Mohamedi’s works have been exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum, New York; The Guggenheim Museum, New York; Tate Liverpool; and The Reina Sofia in Madrid.
This catalogue was produced for Nasreen Mohamedi's retrospective exhibition 2004, at Jehangir Art Gallery.
The exhibition showcased many of never been exhibited before works, and together they traced Nasreen’s career from her earliest figurative drawings of the early 1960s right through to the late drawings that marked her last years. Included were also original photographic prints that were developed by Nasreen herself.
